Bill Gates Out of Day-to-Day on July 1st
It seems we’ve been hearing about it now for years, but as of July 1st Bill Gates will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of the company he built over 33 years ago.
In his last public speech, he speaks to developers about the past 33 years and some of the products we’ll be looking forward to and using in the weeks, months and years to come.
- Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2
- Silverlight 2.0 Beta 2
- Microsoft Sync Framework
- Microsoft Velocity
- Parallel Extensions to .NET Framework
- Microsoft Oslo
I’m really looking forward to see how Internet Explorer 8 turns out for the final usage to users. I’ve started learning a little bit more about Silverlight but haven’t gotten into the details of how I can start using it in some websites. I’ve seen how it’s used in a couple of different instances and I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far in the real world.
My second thought is isn’t Microsoft Sync Framework named a little too similar to Microsoft Sync that’s their new automobile entertainment control features.

Wow means that Bill Gate just need to sit down and look at his company from his house heheh

Yep, someone else will be “in control”. Not without his influence I’m sure, but he won’t be “running” the place anymore. He’ll be focusing most of his time with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation charitable work.
