I’m poking around my computer tonight and looking for old apps that I no longer use and can get rid of from my Control Panel.
The first one that caught my attention is Apple Mobile Device Support taking up a whopping 43.25MB. I’ve actually got an iPod, but it’s defunct right now so I’m not […]

It could be that I’m just missing something but I’ve yet to ever actually find anything with Windows Desktop Search. Remember the days when you could just do a search for any file of a particular type by using a wildcard like the “ * “ in the search?
Can you not do that with Windows […]

I’ve got a multi-card reader in my Toshiba Satellite laptop that has really come in handy. My installation with Windows XP has made managing data on these cards even easier.
I’ve run into some challenges lately thought that have become really irritating and I’m trying to figure out some solutions.

I’m a big fan of the Apple/PC commercials, but it’s not because they enlighten me on the truth between the two computers. It’s because they’re well done and funny. Microsoft is tired of the the commercials being taken as fact and will be starting a campaign to battle that mindset.

I’ll be honest, one of the toolbars I don’t use or have installed even is the MSN toolbar. I never did like the MSN interface back when I had MSN as my ISP on dial-up. Hated their browser navigation interface. I’d always make the connection with their program and then use the default Internet […]

I’m wondering if anything with “Access” in the name works for Microsoft though. […]

Here’s some quick information to probably serve as a reminder for everyone. I saw these two files on my system and wondered what they were for:
pagefile.sys
hiberfil.sys
With names like those and the listing of them as a System file type, it’s at least a little obvious that these aren’t just some random temp file you […]

The question today is whether or not there is an easy, efficient and effective way to “tag” files. My brother presented the question to me initially and I began searching. The goal is to be able to tag any file whatsoever and then be able to search for one of those keywords and see […]

Only a mere 2 weeks from now the final death toll will have rung for Windows XP. Your default option for a Windows operating system will be Windows Vista. It’s time for it to sink or swim right?
I’m not sure how I feel about this move. I realize and understand that Microsoft needs to […]

This will sound really weird, but one of my favorite little things about Windows is the way the desktop grays out after certain events occur with the operating system.
I realize that the amount of intelligence and programming it took to make that happen is probably less than it takes to operate my Texas Instruments […]
