Imagine Your E-mail World Without Outlook
How much do you use Outlook? Why? Just e-mail? Calendaring? Contacts? Just because it’s the defacto installation for your business network?
Did you know, except for more advanced users, most people might be able to ditch Outlook and use the new embedded e-mail, calendaring and contacts management features built into Outlook Windows Vista?
Honestly, I’m not sure I could give up Outlook. I’ve installed Thunderbird on my mother’s computer and she seems to be fine with that, but I didn’t really like the interface. Aside from my various webmail clients, Outlook helps me manage my nearly 30 e-mail addresses that I have setup for a variety of clients. Outlook’s organization utilities save me tons of time, and I know I could probably use them even more effectively than I currently do.
If you’re curious about whether or not you could drop Outlook and just live with Vista’s included personal information management (PIM) tools, you should read “Living an Outlook Free Life with Windows Vista“.

“ditch Outlook and use the new embedded e-mail, calendaring and contacts management features built into Outlook?” Do you mean “built into Vista”? It’s a serious question–I haven’t used Vista (yet), and it looks like this is what you’re saying but I’m not 100% sure.
