Let’s Make It Easier for Lotus Customers
Two new products that will help existing Lotus Notes customers migrate to Microsoft products were announced recently.
Microsoft’s current initiative to encourage Lotus customers to migrate to Exchange was launched in August 2005. The new tools and updates are part of this strategy, and Microsoft expects to continue adding resources in this area, said Roger Murff, the company’s group product manager for exchange server marketing.
As a user of Lotus Notes for numerous years in previous jobs, it wouldn’t take much for me to have made a switch to a Microsoft product. I couldn’t stand Lotus Notes mail functionality. The best thing I saw was the forms database functionality. Those came in handy frequently, but not worth hanging on to Lotus Notes for by themselves.
