Microsoft Harmonica

by Jason Bean on August 17th, 2007

Have you heard of this? Microsoft Harmonica?

Mary Jo Foley believes it’s an application for peer-to-peer synchronization of data, or the “harmony” between disparate sources that can be achieved with this application.

Back story: Harmonica is a codename I first got wind of a year ago. The way it was described to me was it was some kind of “multi-master mesh” that will underlie everything from the Zune to small-business services. It supposedly is what will allow users to synchronice their photos, email, documents, music and video across applications.

Is this exciting? It seems pretty normal to me. Am I missing something? Maybe a little Blues Traveler background music helping underscore the dramatic entrance? Or hey, maybe even Taylor Hicks nowadays.
