More Xbox 360 Fun
My son and I have been enjoying more of the features and entertainment that are available with the Xbox 360 Live system. He particularly likes the variety of free little retro-games that are available to play. We’ve ended up downloading and purchasing the full versions of Uno and Contra so far.
My problem with all the live stuff (aside from the fact that I’ve yet to replace my wi-fi g access point, so I’m stringing a 100′ CAT5 cable through the house from the bedroom to living room), is the cost of the Microsoft Points for obtaining new downloads. The other thing that an always-connected option would let me do is automatically download items when the unit isn’t actually being used for playing games, or we’re not busy watching TV doing something else.
I think Microsoft should have a frequent buyer’s club functionality that allows you to collect Microsoft points. It could be as easy as partnering with frequent flyer programs, local retail stores, a points credit card and all that other good stuff. I also think they should sponsor online contests where you can win points and have a wide variety of winning levels. They may already do that, just haven’t seen anything so far.
