New Design for Microsoft Download Site
Just trying to update some Windows and Microsoft software and noticed that there’s been a little bit of a design change with the Windows download website.
If you’ve been to the Microsoft website recently then you’ve probably been prompted for the option to download Silverlight to help update and improve the functionality of the website for the users.
Did you download Silverlight when you were presented with the option? If not, why not?
I’m not one to just blindly update and install things when presented with the option. I’m also not one to just download everything that’s new and bulk up my system with programs that are cool, but not something I’d use regularly.
The new site works well as usual and mainly a design change. It’s nice and clean for the most part although I think they could do some things that would let people quickly jump to the operating system or software category they’re looking for quicker.

I don’t like it. Then again, I’ve never found it easy to like a webpage Microsoft has create.
I wonder when Microsoft will get that photos of people with smiles pasted on their faces, don’t attract me as much as the product.
The font in the blue box is hard to read.
Windows Live Home (on the laptop) in the picture, is NOT a download. It’s a website. A pretty dumb and redundant one if you ask me.
There’s an ad pane on the right. And the whole site still seems messed up to me.
