Register dissects WSJ story and head butts Scoble

In a detailed piece clinical with Orlowski cool, The Register takes apart last week’s Wall Street Journal article documenting the rewriting of Windows Vista code. In the process it gives a couple of hefty side-swipes at Microsoft evangelist, Robert Scoble.
As it’s Sunday, a day of peace in the Christian calendar, we’ll just take a look at the sly Scoble references ~ we’ve already covered the WSJ article on the Windows Vista blog.
First head butt : “Apple amortized Mac OS X development at $15 million a year: possibly less than what Microsoft pays people to run up and down its corridors with video cameras.”
Ouch. Maybe Register executives should take a fresh look at its salary packages.
Second head butt : “Few commenters responding to Microsoft’s star blogger [Who da’Punk] agree that the week’s reorganization helps flatten the organization, or increase responsibility at the top.”
Orlowski clearly goes for the heavy boots and knuckleduster type of blogger. Maybe he should read Mini’s updates. Andrew is obviously a man for whom a similar epiphany could not come too soon.
