Setting Default Window Size and Settings for VWDE

by Jason Bean on July 17th, 2007

VWDE-Query-Builder

Anyone else think the window layout above isn’t very helpful?

If you’re not familiar with it, it’s the default “Query Builder” window that pops-up in Visual Web Developer Express when you’re working on your custom SQL connections.

This isn’t helpful to me at all. I end up dragging the window to the top-left corner, then enlarging it back dragging the bottom-right corner all the way to the bottom right-corner of my screen.

Then I tell the results page to hide, and then set the sizes of the other panes I need.

THAT’S ALL BEFORE I EVEN START SELECTING MY TABLES!!!!

Big waste of time. Does anyone know how to set the defaults for this to display the way I want it, where I wan it every time?

That would be tremendously helpful.

The same for opening tables, they default to covering most of the window when they open. This is lame, and even lamer that this remains unanswered here and elsewhere.

Yes, I’d like to find the answer to this question as well. On LARGE projects many, many files and queries to build, i constantly:
    -move the window
    -resize the window
    -remove results pane
    -resize panes
    -resize tables
Now, I’m ready to work. The window doesn’t even have a maximize button!
