Significantly Less Spam with Hotmail Through Outlook
Not too long ago I wrote about downloading and installing the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector to begin managing my Hotmail account with Outlook on my laptop. Something significant has happened since I started doing that, I’ve barely gotten ANY spam into my account.
It appears that it’s not even hitting Outlook at all because my Junk Mail folder isn’t clogged with the normal deluge of spam that I’m used to seeing when I checked my Hotmail online.
I’m trying to figure out what the explanation would be. Is Microsoft applying some additional or different logarithms to filter the mail since it’s not being managed through the website? Could it be that more advertising dollars are being generated by people spending more time managing the junk that makes it into their Inbox on the website?
Since I’m no longer going to the website, I’m not seeing any of the ads that are located there. Since I’m only going to Outlook, could it be that Microsoft pays more attention to letting spam through their systems and clogging the network?
Hmmm…what do you think?
