Speeding Up Internet Explorer

by Jason Bean on February 28th, 2007

Lots of tips coming around from PC Magazine again. Sorry folks, but I save these things in my Inbox and read through them when I feel it’s something that would help me out. If it helps me out, I figure there’s probably someone else that it may bring some joy to as well.

Sometimes when you start Internet Explorer does it seem like it takes forever to get going? Are you telling IE to search for and verify settings for services you don’t use? Not sure what I mean when I ask if you are asking to use settings you don’t know about?

One of the recent tips in PC Magazine talks about speeding up Internet Explorer’s sluggish start-up behaviour by making sure you’re not telling it to search for proxy settings when you’re not using a proxy.

Now if only Adobe Reader would let you make simple changes like that for it’s start-up process.

Get all the details here.
