Firefox Copies IE7?

I just downloaded Firefox 2.0 and installed it. Two questions:

They copied IE7’s option of the close box within the tab itself
Are they calling extensions add-ons now like IE7? Why?

Screen Real Estate Comparison 2 - IE7 vs. Firefox
