Windows Live Writer Update Thoughts

I wrote about updating my installation of Windows Live Writer to the newest tech preview and now it’s time to share some thoughts and images.

Let’s work through the image above to see some updates and improvements:

Quick Color Formatting: Not sure if this is new or not but didn’t remember it in the old […]

Access Pocket PC (PPC-6700) From Laptop

One of the things that I cannot believe doesn’t exist yet, or at least I haven’t found it, is the ability to completely control my PPC-6700 (or any smart phone for that matter) from my laptop’s keyboard and mouse.
If I’m docked in my USB cradle and the cradle is attached to my laptop, why […]

Outlook Contact Photos

Since I’ve been playing with Xobni more one question I’ve come across is why doesn’t Xobni use Outlook’s own contact photo information?

Vista w/ ActiveSync

Thanks to Mark, I’m now downloading Vista RC1. However, I’ve also been reading that ActiveSync isn’t working with Vista and I’m using ActiveSync 4.2 with my PPC-6700 Pocket PC phone.

The reason they work so great? Because both sites recognize I’m connecting with a mobile device and adjust their display to work with the smaller screen size and functionality of the device itself.
I’d still like to […]

ActiveSync 4.2

Microsoft has released a new version of ActiveSync. This one is 4.2 and should take care of many of the problems with the 85010014 errors many of us have been dealing with.
I’m currently looking at my ActiveSync 4.2.0 (Build 4855) BETA install for my PPC-6700. Looks like this is the final, non-beta version.
Thanks to Pocket […]

ActiveSync 4.2 Beta

Not sure if it’s related or not, but after installing the Office 2007 beta preview, I began getting the Error Support Code: 85010014 again. However, I just visited the Microsoft Mobile website again and noticed they’ve got ActiveSync 4.2 beta available.
I installed it and everything synch’d right up again with no errors, so that’s definitely […]
