Xbox Live Connection Issues

by Jason Bean on April 16th, 2008

XBOX-LIVE

With my recent AT&T U-verse install, I decided to install the wireless router in my living room right next to the TV. Part of the reason for this was so I could run a wired ethernet connection to my Xbox 360 again and get back online and use the Xbox Live membership I’ve paid for for the past 2 years and barely used.

The problem is I can’t get Xbox Live to connect.

Everything else is testing fine:

  • Network Adapter = Wired
  • IP Address = Confirmed
  • DNS = Confirmed
  • MTU = Confirmed
  • ICMP = Confirmed
  • Xbox Live = FAILED

When I click on the “More Info” button to get the details and to show the Status Codes I get the following Error Status Report:

  • W: 0000 - 000B
  • X: 0000 - F001
  • Y: 00C2 = 01A0
  • Z: AFFF = 0016

I’m doing a quick search online for what might be the issue but thought I’d see if anyone out here might know the answer as well. If none of that works, then I’ll give somebody at Xbox a call.

    W: 0000 - 000B
    X: 0000 - F009
    Y: 00C2 = 01A0
    Z: AFFF = 0016

Reading about looks like banned for having a modded console. F maybe is for a different region (I’m Europe). I’m a netwrok engineer so i know it is set up correctly. However i have never been online with thsi console so they must be able to do it on first sign in now.

    Assuming yours is modded too.

Definitely not modded unless Microsoft themselves replaced my RROD unit with a modded unit from somebody else.

Yah, I have been having the same problem since receiving a replacement. Its been over a week now and MS has not been any help after over 15 furious phone calls. If anybody gets a real answer/solution to the issue, please let us all know.’ Thanks

Also, I believe that the number 6 in line X indicates a banned XBOX. It should not be banned at least according to the research I have done.

Taylor give Microsoft a call at 1-800-4MY-XBOX. They got me up and running after they updated something on their end to fix the “known issue”. Spent a bit of time this weekend playing some Halo 3.

I also have a failure with different reports
    w: 0000-000B
    x: 0000-F001
    y: 30A8-48E0
    z: 0000-0000

I called support and they claimed its my ISP, wrong! How else am I writing this? Brilliant! This is a replacement console, I value an honest answer. A “We don’t know but we will resolve and contact you…” and acutally do so would be corteous.

I have the same error code, as follows:
    W 0000 - 0021
    X 0000 - F001
    Y 30A8 - 48E0
    Z 0000 - 0000

Nothing has change with my ISP, router or firewall settings. Do any have an update to this issue of a fix besides already wasting 2 1/2 hours on the phone w/xBox.

My problem was resolved after 24 hours by itself. Either XBOX live gave me a timeout for my online play or since my box was replaced due to the three rings of death it was temporarily not recognized by XBOX live. Good luck.

Update to my issue: I found out that a recent firmware update to my router was the cause of me not connecting to xBox Live. I rolled back/down graded my router firmware and now I’m up and running on Halo 3. Good luck

Guys mine stated working after I took it to a mates and connected there. It immediately downloaded an update for xboxlive and worked straight off as we used his account to sign in - my console then took the update and when I connected at home it worked for me creating a new account.
